Starting Persona: Nephele
Nephele was a cloud nymph in Greek mythology created to act as a decoy for an unwanted suitor of Hera's and as such, she is known as the Doppelganger Goddess. After the suitor was foiled, Nephele couldn't be unmade and wandered around Olympus crying. Zeus got so fed up with constant weeping that Zeus married her off to the stupidest king on Earth who eventually divorced her for another woman. Eventually, Hera brought her back to Olympus to work in the stables filling the horse troughs with her tears.

Nephele represents Miyume's malleability, lack of self-understanding, her eroded sense of self, and mimicry of others.
Combat Role: Balanced spellcaster ( i.e. Yukiko and Yukari), specializing in water and recovery magic.

Appearance:
Miyume's hair is chestnut brown, wavy, and long enough to give the appearance of having never been cut. She's very fair skinned, her complexion bordering on pasty, with a slim build. She's of average height and weight for a Japanese girl her age. Many consider her rather pretty. Her doe-like brown eyes are rather soulful and give the strange impression of belonging to a complete innocent and an old soul at once.

At school, she tends to follow uniform regulations. In terms of accessories, she follows fads of the popular, successful girls. Similiarly, her fashion sense out of school is also variable. Miyume's the type to dress like girls who are popular or successful. However, two concrete observations remain consistent: most of her clothes are cheap labels or second-hand and aren't always weather appropriate. (For example, she'll wear her blazer when it's hot and take it off when it's cold.)

She doesn't do much with her hair aside from gathering it into a single braid or tying it back with hair ribbons. The majority of the time, she just leaves her hair down. Also, her body language frequently mirrors that of the company she's with. She also walks with a cane most days.

Personality:
Miyume is a nice, friendly, and helpful, to the point of coming across as a little fake or creepy to people who are cynical or unprepared for it. She's a bit of a copycat, but not in a malicious way. She tends to assimilate traits and mannerisms from people she likes or admires. She's extremely perceptive to the point that some more open-minded people might consider her to be psychic. This especially shows up in her social interactions.

She's good at reading people's moods and the subtle undertones in situations. She's the type who seems to always know when there's something wrong with a person, and even to have anticipated it, because she's often ready with words of comfort or wisdom. She actively reaches out to others and attempts to make them comfortable. She's not above telling white lies or omitting information to this end.

Miyume's easygoing and passive to a fault. She's extremely comfortable just going with the flow of other people's whims and opinions. 'No' doesn't seem to be a word in her vocabulary and such Miyume seldom, if ever refuses a request, no matter how unreasonable and if a task is asked of her, she'll perform it to perfection. The same thing applies to school rules. Miyume obeys them without question or dissent.

She's not exactly childish but enjoys things that could be considered such. She loves shoujo manga/anime, fairytales, cute things, and fantasy. Miyume's a creative, imaginative writer and frequently writes fiction about these things. Often her stories contain spiritual messages of some sort but they're often obscured under vast amounts of surreal symbolism and imagery.

Miyume does seem to have a way of charming the boys with her cute, fragile exterior. However, all of her encounters with them are strictly platonic and innocent.

History:
Miyume's from Tokyo. She went to public schools. She was picked on in elementary until she met her best friend, Matsuda Ayana, a trouble-making tomboy. The pair were inseparable and have somewhat notorious Romantic Two Girl Friendship with one another starting in elementary and continuing all the way through middle school. Miyume has a long history of frequent, extended absences from school. Her poor health is common knowledge though most people don't know what she's sick with, only that she's had to stay in the hospital a lot and spent time in a wheelchair once. She gets tired a lot and spends lots of time resting in the nurses office. Miyume's fairly popular among boys because they think she's pretty and it's not unusual to see them opening doors and carrying books for her. Miyume avoids forming close bonds with girls and most of her friendships with them tend to be quite shallow.

Other: Miyume's 'specialty' is creative writing, specifically fantasy and allegorical fiction. She also has a knack for poetry. Her sport club is swimming after her doctor recommended it for exercise.
